Ahh, fall.
It feels like fall in San Francisco.
Bright skies, crisp air. Mornings in the 40's and 50's.
That bracing wind reminds of the coming winter, the changing seasons, makes you glad to be a alive.
Yep, nuthing like fall.
Unless its fall in &%#%^&%%^& AUGUST!!!
Damned San Francisco weather. I feel like my summer has been stolen.

JPennant: im not getting enuff sleep, and im not sleeping enuff

JPennant: Im like staying awake all night and all morning and afternoon -- and then , I only sleep for a few hours.

It's only been 2 weeks. Ive got this schedule through December.
Ah, I knew what I was getting into. Just dont have to like it.

Mac attack
After another system crash (because Im cramming a lot of stuff on a 30gb drive on a 4 year old machine).
JPennant: gotta replace the drive soon
McClint: which drive?
JPennant: hard drive in the iMac
McClint: you might just have to look toward investing in a new (or semi-new) mac
JPennant: I am, im keeping an eye out for a G4 iMac
JPennant: If I get a g4 desktop, Im gonna have to get a flat screen
JPennant: cheaper than getting a g4 imac, I guess
McClint: yeah could be
JPennant: (dont want a big machine)
JPennant: small space, japanese style, yanno? :-)
McClint: hehehe then a Mac Mini might be in your future
JPennant: doesnt excite me
JPennant: neither does a G5 iMac
JPennant: To me, there is something off about the G5 imac
JPennant: the mini mac too
JPennant: design wise that is
McClint: but they are perfect for your Japanese style living
JPennant: yeah, I know - but theyre not pretty enough
McClint: well if you get a G4, it'll just sit under your desk where you cant see it anyway :-)
JPennant: I had a client, big time photographer. He wouldnt allow me to put ANY piece of equipment in his studio that wasnt stylish.
JPennant: I was like "Dude, c'mon - you just need equipment that works", but he was adamant about that
McClint: heheheh
JPennant: He had models as staff and assistants, to show how serious he was about that :-)
JPennant: But now.. Im understanding his mentality.

Chasing summer
The other day, the morning low at sunrise was FORTY-SIX degrees in SF.
Actually colder than Anchorage, Alaska.
I woke up shivering and a hot shower barely warmed me.
Im tired of this.
McClint: ya know, you really are missing this fun Florida heat and humidity we've been suffering through for the past couple weeks
JPennant: I know :-(
JPennant: Youre being sarcastic, Im not
JPennant: Its fucking cold here
McClint: heat index over 100° here
JPennant: I left Chicago partly because I got tired of overcast days in winter
JPennant: Im gonna have to leave here in the summer
McClint: i can't walk from my front door to my car (20 feet) without being drenched in sweat
JPennant: its good for you. Makes the skin soft :-)
McClint: yeah, it's called "melting"
JPennant: jawhol :-)
JPennant: Ironically, I'll be going to Hawaii during SF's week of summer
JPennant: Its the only time of year that the temps in SF reach over 90, October is
McClint: hehe you'll get real sun
Not just sun, I want my core temp to be raised!
