Where I had an epiphany

You are likely to spend a lot of time today daydreaming about the future -- but it will be time well spent! It's never too early to make a plan, especially one that you think could help you achieve a major goal. Thoughts about where you want to live next, who you want to grow old with, or what kind of family you want will be swimming around your head, and you should give them some thought whenever you can.

Be open to change -- what you think you want desperately today might seem silly tomorrow.

Yes indeedy, my mind is working a mile a minute. Its becoming increasingly clear as to why I am where I am right now.

Reasons to enjoy the recession

For an epiphany to resonate, it has to touch upon what is true and be congruent to you..

The epiphany I had today fitted into the slot waiting for it, felt right and was congruent. Ive always thought that to find the answer that you already know, you have to search for the right question.

Still that epiphany has opened up a hornets nest of hard work to an avenue I hadnt really considered. How is that business organized, what skills do I need to acquire. Exactly what path do I take. Will it take away from or be congruent with what Im already doing. How willing am I to do the work that this entails.

Still, it is exciting, even though it is prpbably something I wouldnt have considered before, it feels right.

However, I still feel there are other answers awaiting the right questions in the near future.

Gambling on the Strip

Gambling on the Strip, originally uploaded by Itinerant.

On a whim, I decided to risk a dollar gambling 5 cent video poker.

I lasted awhile on that dollar, but then the odds on the strip took me down.

Whats funny, I got my dollar back, for as I was leaving the machine, I looked down and there was a gambling token by my feet - worth one dollar. :)

Today's horrorscope sez:

You will meet someone today who encourages you to do more with your life. More importantly, they will show you practical ways to get out of the rut you've been in since the start of the year. Fortunately you are not yet in too deep.

It is kinda frustrating being in a rut.

There are a lot of reasons to be optimistic about your career, Virgo. Something you've been working toward should soon come to fruition, so keep doing what you're doing. You probably decided long ago that instant gratification wasn't going to get you anywhere. When you begin to see that the foundations you've been laying are consolidating, it won't be too long before your dreams become a reality.

Good.

Dont chase the paper, chase the dream

Looking at my greying locks, and realizing most of my contemporaries are either past the mid thirties mark or have cleared forties, and most of the women Ive been dating have been thirty or older. Oh yeah, and michelle obama is 7 months older than I am and she just turned ... *gasp*

Man, I gotta get moving.

One of the cool things about Vegas is that you dont have to stress about the basics if youve got the basics taken care of. On the other hand, it can inspire a sense of ennui.

Ennui is not where I want to be.

Fresh bread rolls at a Panaderia in Las Vegas.

Years ago, I went to lunch in midtown with a friend, and he asked "why do you take so many pictures?". Instead of answering I said "Watch this", raised the camera over my head, took two pictures in opposite directions and showed him those pictures. To this day, I will never forget as he exclaimed "Oh! It looks like the movies!".
-------
Recently, I got my camera back from repair. It had stopped working properly after it hit the desert floor. Although I was anxious to have it back, the month without the camera made me realize I had become dissatisfied with the pictures I had taken over the past year, ijn particular when I stayed in Los Angeles.

While the camera was gone, I missed a one in a lifetime event - it snowed heavily in Las Vegas. I borrowed a camera and got shots of this, but I was pining for the possibilities lost. Still, Im not so sure I wouldve made the most of the camera. So, I promised myself when I got the camera back, I would endeavor to make better crafted images and do it and myself justice.

My childhood lunch

My childhood lunch, originally uploaded by Itinerant.

Growing up in Jamaica, this would be my typical lunch, a meat patty and coco bread with a drink from the local little stores cum bakeries. In Jamaica, the stores were usually owned by chinese folk. Another favorite lunch were fruit buns and cheddar cheese but then we had the idea to have patties in the buns. Mmm, sweet and salty.

So, yeah - comfort food.
