Jamericans talkin'

My 'little' brother , eleven years my junior, came to the US when he was 3 years old, pretty much lived in New York all his life.

He is also the most "Jamaican" of the Pennant siblings, flying the gold and green flag on his SUV on the Caribbean holidays and festivals, flying to Jamaica every chance he gets, which is several times a year.

More rabid about being a Jamaican than the rest of us, but hey - he felt he kinda missed out.

He still gets kinda green with envy when we get together and bring up memories of growing up in Jamaica, things happening years ago brought up like they were yesterday.

So, every so often, so as to not let him feel like the "Jamerican" that he is, I talk to him in straight patois - even on IM.

He knows Im humoring him, but he truly does appreciate the little things.....
