Sometimes the cables that pull the cars break and get snagged under the streets.

According to the MUNI guys, theyre a bitch to fix.

Parking spot

Parking spot, originally uploaded by Itinerant.

A precious thing in San Francisco, the free, untowable parking spot.

And even if you do find one, your car might still be prey to the assorted crackheads, meth habies and itinerant opportunists who'll break windows for things to sell (particularly to adept at breaking into trunks for valuables therein.).

Makes one pause to have a vehicle in this city. Thats why there are so many scooters.

What is she doing?

What is she doing?, originally uploaded by Itinerant.

Out of the thousands of images Ive taken in the past week, this one bothered me.

I saw the woman sketching the view of the cable car on the hill above Lomabard Street. Artists and sketchpads arent uncommon in this city. Cept she seemed uncommonly aware of people looking at her.

And I noticed it wasnt a sketchpad. It was a notebook. And she had gone to great length to cover up. It wasnt that cold.

5 minutes later, she was gone.

Couldnt get it out of my mind.

I guy came up the hill, lugging a recyclable cans and bottles.

"Youre enjoying that camera, arent you."
"Its a nice night for it."
"You own the city, man."

And you know, I felt like I did.
