(Guerrero & Duboce)
There are days in San Francisco, when the sun lifts, brilliantly warm sunshine bathes you, the air has a warm crispness to it, and you can see views for miles.
These are days when youre glad you live in San Francisco.
Better when this is only blocks from where you live.
Makes you forget the ever-present fog hanging somewhere about and the cold of summer....

JPennantCali: Ok, I got Chef!
Glinessa: lol....ok
JPennant: I watched a few episodes at work. Man, that felt good to laff
JPennant: Happy Birthday to Me :-)
Glinessa: lol...i hear you
Glinessa: HAPPY! HAPPY!
Glinessa: YEAH!!!!
JPennant: hahaha
Im a simple man.
I woke up to get ready for class, the news came up that the traffic on US 101 in San Francisco was snarled as they cleared the accident scene of a man who died crossing the freeway, hit by a cab, who left the scene.
-------
On tuesday, it was uncharacteristically overcast by clouds, not fog.
I saw flashes of lightning and heard thunder over the city, something that is extremely rare here.
Tuesday night I arrive to find out that a former coworker, the husband of a coworker had died, apparently in a traffic accident.
By wednesday morning I found out that the news report and Randy dying was one and the same.
For no apparent reason, Randy had crossed a freeway on foot and got hit by a speeding cab and whose body was what I saw on the TV report.

Warning: Portions may appear larger than they actually are
Hukilau SF
Masonic & Geary
Big Bubba plate
The food was good, but the Hawaiian food Ive had so far made me believe it was good, filling stuff.
This had me craving a chalupa or 2 afterward.
I was disappointed.
-----------
JPennant: Hey Mars .. when I go out to eat hawaiian, say a combo plate.. I should leave full, shouldnt I?
mars: depends
mars: but mostly yes
JPennant: thats what I thought
mars: y?
JPennant: I went for Hawaiian at a noted Hawaiian place in frisco
JPennant: I left craving a chalupa, cuz I wasnt full.
mars: lol
mars: over priced too?
JPennant: wasnt exactly cheap, no.
mars: the best is to get cheap eats
mars: biiiig portions, small prices
JPennant: yeah!
mars: the farther away from hawaii you get the more the inverse is true
JPennant: well, the Hawaii Drive Inn - thats the rule.
JPennant: cheap and makes me full and satisfied and sleep
JPennant: I went to another in the Castro the other night
JPennant: I was so sleepy, I was staggering home like I was drunk.
mars: lol
mars: thats the best
JPennant: whoo doggy
JPennant: It didnt seem like a lot, but it was.
JPennant: The worst part tho, was that it was recommended by someone who knows Hawaii.
JPennant: Ah, well, soon - I'll know the real deal.
mars: why is that the worst part?
JPennant: well, if a friend recommends a place highly, and it doesnt work out.. its not a good feeling.
mars: oh! the one in frisco not the one in castro?
JPennant: right, Hukilau - not Tita's. Tita's was waay better.
JPennant: Its not that the place was bad.. I was just disappointed.
mars: sucks

Fred is a bit ... annoyed.. when I call The City of San Francisco, "Frisco".
I tried to be good for a long long time. I did.
The City. San Francisco.
But no one could tell me WHY some people got so annoyed.
Really. No one could tell me. Some people (natives in fact) said they could give a damn.
Near as I could tell, they got annoyed cuz it's a Thing for Friscans to get annoyed at that. They dont even know why.
So, if no one could say why, what the fuck was I even tiptoeing around folks feelngs?
So, what thee hell.
Frisco.
Yeah, catchy.

Ive loved Linda Ellerbee since the days of the much loved "NBC Overnight".
She has a ..uhhh.. unique way of putting things. :)
