My .... favorite pastry
At the corner of Golden Gate & Larkin, is the unassuming pastry shop of choice for San Francisco's City, State and Federal workers.
In a town where the common pastry borders on the sublime, this place produces the flakiest pastry. Surpisingly, the items arent overly sweet, but they are very rich, indicative of the high butter content.
The butter croissants make you involuntarily close your eyes at first taste. The danishes flake in different directions to reveal sublime softness underneath the crispy flakes.
But my favorite are these raisin snails, which is a simple delight of buttery, flaky douhg, but with the added sweetness of a bucketload of raisins.
You cant just have one.
