A former musician. Son of drums legend James Levi, drummer for the group Toto and the jazz icons The Headhunters. (I had the privilege of meeting him.)
I met a lot of world class musicians in Berkeley. Actually, i met a lot of world class artists during my time in Berkeley.
In any case, Levi once lived the life of the world-class artist, touring all over the world. But what makes him important to me, was his down-to-earth perspective, borne out of the fact of his addiction and life being homeless. Went through a lot. He is doing fine now. Really good guy.
He also gave me advice that I take to this day:
Anything that doesnt apply to my goals is a distraction.
