"Miss Arlene". A very jamaican name and term. My favorite Jamaican personalized plate is Illinois plate "IRIE DAHTA".

Always nice to see another yardie.

On the west coast, unlike on the East - Jamaicans and other West Indians arent very visible. They blend. Cept for the visible rastafarians, and most of THOSE are americans looking for an identity other than their own.

I do like catching them in the lie...

"Yeah mon."
"Where are you from?"
"Ocho Rios."
(Always a popular answer, as its a top tourist destination. They never say "Kingston", the ez answer, for some reason.)
"Oh yeah? What parish is Ocho Rios in?"
"Uhhhhhh.."

For a jamaican, that isnt a hard question.
